Brian Stoltz Confirms Wednesday Residency in New Orleans

Former funky Meters guitarist Brian Stoltz has confirmed a Wednesday night residency at New Orleans’ Maple Leaf Bar. The guitarist will perform at the venue on January 5, 12, 19 and 26. Jimmy Messa (bass) and “Boomer” Bosarge (drums) will back Stoltz throughout the residency. As previously reported, Stoltz will also rejoin the funky Meters for the 30th Anniversary of Tipitina’s on January 14.

he is such a badass…one of the most underrated guitarists of our day. I mean, hello folks, he is like a living and breathing LEGEND. jammed with Santana, Grateful Dead and to me, i mean this with the most respect (to you Brian), that he is like a New Orleans tinged Stevie Ray Vaughan with living and breathing soul dripping from his strings. more folks should check him out! his solo stuff is amazing

if you ever see “Junco Partners’ playing at jazzfest, go see it. Brian Stoltz + June Yamaguci = nola guitargasm. its fun to watch great guitarists play creative rhythym against another great guitarist.
