Bob Weir to Play Sundance Film Festival

Bob Weir will deliver a rare solo acoustic set at Park City, UT’s Sundance Film Festival. The Grateful Dead/Furthur guitarist will perform at the ASCAP café on Main Street on January 23. Weir’s appearance is tied to the opening of The Music Never Stopped, a new film based on Dr. Oliver Sacks’ case study The Last Hippie. The film—which explores the strained relationship of a father and his son against the backdrop of the ‘60s and its aftermath—features the music of the Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, the Rolling Stones and many of classic rock acts. A lead character’s inability to understand that Pigpen has died also plays a prominent role in the story.
