Last year, Galactic let fans vote on a number of potential cover collaborations with groups like Tea Leaf Green and Karl Denson’s Tiny Universe. Galactic will expand the concept for its Throwdown Request Live campaign this February. Fans can now vote on which of the following songs they’d like the band to rework: Michael Jackson’s “Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin,‘” Jimi Hendrix Experience’s “Crosstown Traffic,” Led Zeppelin’s “Custard Pie,” Prince’s “Lady Cab Driver,” Curtis Mayfield’s “Move on Up” and Funkadelic’s “Hit It and Quit It.” Galactic will tally the results, learn the most popular covers and perform them in Atlanta (2/12/11), Chicago (2/18/11) and New York (2/26). Some special guests will join the members of Galactic at each of these stops.

The group will perform next at Jacksonville, FL’s Freebird Live on January 19. Please click here to vote.
