Gregg Allman is currently touring in support of his new solo album Low Country Blues. The cover-heavy album—which was produced by T Bone Burnett—is scheduled for release this Tuesday on Rounder Records. Allman is the subject of an extensive feature in the January/February issue of Relix. The Allman Brothers frontman was also interviewed for yesterday’s edition of USA Today and revealed that he will play with his solo band at both the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and the 10th annual Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. He also mentions that he hopes to work with Burnett on a new Allman Brothers Band album.

The Allman Brothers Band performed at JazzFest last year. The group also appeared at Bonnaroo in 2003 and 2005. The band was scheduled to appear at Bonnaroo in 2008 as well but had to cancel its appearance due to Allman’s health concerns. Gregg Allman will perform at New Bedford, MA’s Zeiterion Performing Arts Center this evening.
