A Guest and A Grateful Dead Cover for Matisyahu and Cloud Runner

Last night, Matisyahu closed out a two-night run with his new group Cloud Runner. The group features past Matisyahu band members Aaron Dugan (guitar), Jason Fraticelli (bass) and Rob Marscher (keyboards), along with Mark Guiliana (drums). Taylor McFerrin (Bobby McFerrin’s son) also sat in on vocals/beatbox for part of last night’s show at New York’s Bowery Ballroom. In addition to a set full of originals songs, Cloud Runner also offered a notable cover, encoring with the Grateful Dead’s “He’s Gone.”

For a bit more on Matisyahu and Cloud Runner check our Mike Greenhaus’ interview with Matis, which just posted to the site.

Looks like he is using his phone as a portable teleprompter. Still sounds good and I dig the tribute.
