Last month in Birmingham, AL

The Asheville-based Vertigo Jazz Project, which formed just three years ago, continues to gain notoriety and draw in guest musicians. Last night the group appeared at the 5 Spot in Atlanta for a show billed as VJP Featuring Kofi Burbridge. Vertigo Jazz Project was then joined throughout the evening by Burbidge on both keys and flute. Two other notable players stepped up as well, with Kofi’s brother Oteil making an appearance on bass, and Kofi’s longtime fellow Derek Trucks Band member, Yonrico Scott, joining in on drums.

Tonight the Vertigo Jazz Project is in Boone, NC at Murphy’s Restaurant & Pub.
