Cornmeal and Greensky Bluegrass Set East Coast Tour

Kalamazoo, MI’s Greensky Bluegrass and Chicago’s Cornmeal are both Midwest bands that combine elements of traditional bluegrass and progressive jam music. Next week, the two groups will kick off a five-date co-headlining East Coast tour. The bands will alternate headlining spots each night and promise plenty of cross pollination. Members of the two bands also shared the stage on Jam Cruise last month.

Here’s a look at Cornmeal and Greensky Bluegrass’ 2011 shows

February 9 Buffalo, NY—Tralf Music Hall
February 10 New York, NY—Sullivan Hall
February 11 Cambridge, MA—Middle East Upstairs
February 12 Philadelphia, PA—World Cafe Live
February 13 Baltimore, MD—8 × 10

I live in Manhattan and I am psyched for the show at Sullivan Hall. It is going to rock. Going to see them both at Telluride too. Whew.

These are two highly original bands that are on the same wave length. I love a band that brings the down home soulfoul bluegrass and the hoedown bluegrass. Then they can outer space funk it up. This will be some killer shit get out and see it
