Relix and Jambands.com will roll out a slew of archival material leading up to the 10th annual Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival. Given today’s Bonnaroo lineup announcement, we figured it was only appropriate to look back on the festival’s original announcement. Initial 17 Acts Confirmed for Bonnaroo Music Festival

The initial line-up for the Bonnaroo music festival has been confirmed. The 3-day camping event will take place June 21-23 on a 500-acre farm in Manchester, TN. Artists performing include Widespread Panic, Trey Anastasio, String Cheese Incident, moe., Ben Harper, Soulive, Galactic, Govt Mule, Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Karl Densons Tiny Universe, Jack Johnson, Les Claypools Frog Brigade, North Mississippi Allstars, Keller Williams Incident, Triple Threat DJs, Robert Randolph & the Family Band, and the Blind Boys of Alabama.

The festival is being produced by New Orleans-based Superfly Presents and Knoxville’s A.C. Entertainment. Additional acts will be announced. Dr. John popularized the word bonnaroo, a Creole term with positive connotations, with the release of his 1974 album, Desitively Bonnaroo. The festival website is www.bonnaroo.com
