Country star Jamey Johnson has co-produced Blind Boys Of Alabama’s new studio album Take The High Road. Described as the group’s first country-gospel album, Take The High Road will feature appearances by Vince Gill, Willie Nelson, Hank Williams Jr., Lee Ann Womack and The Oak Ridge Boys. The songs were recorded in Ben Folds’ Javelina Studio with numerous studio Nashville session players. Covers include Hank Williams Jr.’s re-working of his father’s “I Saw the Light” and Danny Flower’s “I Was a Burden.”

Blind Boys of Alabama will also tour with special guest Aaron Neville this April. Neville will perform with the musicians for a string of dates in Australia and New Zealand. Blind Boys Of Alabama will perform next at Bellevue, WA’s Wintergrass Music Festival on February 26.
