Phish Confirms Summer Tour

As we suggested earlier today, Phish has confirmed the first leg of its summer tour with the initial ticket request period now underway. One new development this summer is that the band will offer two tiers of ticket pricing, with reserved seats costing $60 and general admission lawn seats costing $45 for every date except the final confirmed show at the Ntelos Pavilion at Harbor Center in Portsmouth, VA (at that show all tickets are general admission and will cost $60). It is expected that the group will follow up this string of dates with its own Northeast festival event in July before heading out west later in the summer.

The tour opens with three nights at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY over Memorial Day weekend and also includes multiple show runs at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ (May 31 and June 1), Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD (June 11 and 12) and Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta, GA (June 14 and 15). Phish has not performed in Holmdel since the summer of 2000, and the band has never performed at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, a venue located on the site of the original Woodstock.

Phish affirms that, “Additional summer announcements will be coming,” but notes that “Following the summer, the band has no touring plans for the remainder of the year.”

I love how certain people call Phish “Greedy Phucks” OK – this year they are playing a Summer Tour and apparently no other shows. This upsets you ? I say be thankful. Let us not forget a time when there was no Phish and the reason there was no Phish. The road, for Phish, led way to a drug addled existance that made going to a show a bore (SEE JERRY GARCIA CIRCA 93-95). Yes I agree – it sucks that there will not be a fall and winter tour but CHRIST ! Listening to people like “It’s all Hype” calling the Boys greedy is absolutley Phucked. If you don’t like the ticket prices stay home or perhaps buy two less nitrous balloons at the show. Anyone who calls this band greedy (after all they have done for us) should be beaten. GFY and Viva La Phish !!!

you guys actually think these tickets are expensive? WTF....no 2 shows are the same, you get a free download with your stub, they play for hours and hours!!! would you rather pay $200 plus for U2? get same shows note for note, night after night? For what Phish gives you, their prices are a bargain…quityourbitchinandgetajob!!

fluffhead93 February 23, 2011, 01:14:02

Am I the only one made uneasy by the “Following the summer, the band has no touring plans for the remainder of the year,” statement from the band?
