Frontman Nicholas Tremulis, drummer Bun E. Carlos (Cheap Trick), bassist John Stirratt (Wilco) and singer Rick Rizzo (Eleventh Dream Day) have formed the new side group Candy Golde. The group will release its first recording—the the self-titled 5-song Candy Golde EP—on May 11 via Ten O Nine Record. Candy Golde is said to offer a “distinctive blend of blues groove, power pop, Americana and alternative” music.

The band will make its live debut at Austin, TX’s Club de Ville on March 18 during SXSW. Candy Golde will also host an official record release party and performance at Chicago’s Double Door on April 29.
