Club d’Elf is a rotating cast of musicians led by Mike Rivard that features diverse artists such as John Medeski and DJ logic. The band will release its new double album Electric Moroccol and/So Below on Face Pelt records on April 15 and follow up the release with a short tour running up the East Coast. Influenced by Rivard’s affection for Moroccan music (specifically Gnawa), the group’s sound blends a unique mix of African-inspired dub, trance, jazz and funk. Rivard performs on a sinter, a three-stringed instrument essential to Gnawa music. The band’s namesake is derived from the thoughts of psychedelic explorer Terence McKenna, who reportedly communed with “elf like entities” on his travels.

The band’s tour kicks off at Philadelphia’s World Café Live on April 8 and closes out with two sets (early and late) at the Lizard Lounge on April 22 in Cambridge, MA. Medeski will join the group for the entire tour. The full list of tour dates is below:
