Mike Gordon kicked off a tour with his five-person band at Eugene, OR’s McDonald Theatre last night. Near the end of his first set, Gordon performed “Babylon Baby” from his 2010 album Moss live for the first time. The show’s encore also featured the Mike Gordon Band debut of “Mound,” a Gordon original Phish debuted, oddly enough, almost exactly 19 ago on March 6, 1992 (Gordon hinted that he might perform “Mound” in his tour announcement video). Gordon’s solo tour continues at Arcata, CA’s Van Duzer Theatre at Humboldt State tonight.
