The Allman Brothers 2011 Beacon Theater run opened its concluding week last night and the group added brass for portions of the evening. Towards the close of set one, old friends the Juke Horns stepped out for “Ain’t No Love in the Heart of the City” and “Stand Back.” Then at the start of set two, Randy Brecker appeared on trumpet as the Brothers delivered a version of “Spanish Key,” from Miles Davis’s Bitches Brew release. Brecker remained for “Desdemona,” “In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” and “The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down” before the Juke Horns returned for “Into the Mystic.” All of the guests came back out later for the “Southbound” encore.

The ABB is back at the Beacon this evening.
