Phish has confirmed its heavily rumored Super Ball IX Festival. The three-day destination event will take place at the Watkins Glen International road racing track in Watkins Glen, NY from July 1-3. Super Ball IX will feature many other Phish festival hallmarks, including art installations, vendors and onsite camping.

After playing numerous multi-band festivals and destination events in the ‘80s and early ‘90s, Phish hosted the Clifford Ball in 1996. Clifford Ball helped lay the groundwork for the modern large scale destination music festivals that have come to define the current concert climate. Phish also hosted weekend festivals in 1997 (The Great Went), 1998 (Lemonwheel) 1999 (Camp Oswego, Big Cypress), 2003 (IT), 2004 (Coventry) and 2009 (Festival 8).

Approximately 600,000 fans attended Summer Jam at Watkins Glen at The Watkins Glen Grand Prix Raceway on July 28, 1973. The show featured performances by the Grateful Dead, The Band and The Allman Brothers Band, as well as an extended jam session with all three bands. Phish will kick off its summer tour in Bethel, NY at the site of another historic music festival, Woodstock.

Tickets will go onsale this Monday, April 4 at Noon ET. Onsite camping is included in the price of admission. Anyone purchases Super Ball IX tickets will receive a free MP3 download of each set the band plays during the weekend from livephish.com.

A variety of VIP camping and hotel options are available through CID Entertainment (including tent rental). Travel packages will include shuttle transportation to the festival site.
