North Mississippi Allstars, Shannon McNally, Cedric Burnside Project and DuWayne Burnside are among the acts scheduled to appear at the 2011 Hill Country Picnic. The annual celebration of hill country blues music will take place in Potts Camp, MS on June 24 and 25. Other acts scheduled to appear include: Rising Star Fife and Drum, Rocket 88, Tate Moore, Duff Durrough, Robert Belfour, Little Joe Ayers and John Wilkins, among others. Luther Dickinson, DuWayne Burnside, Garry Burnside and Kenny Brown will also participate in a hill country blues workshop the afternoon of June 24. All weekend passes include a copy of the 2010 North Mississippi Hill Country Picnic live album, which includes highlights of last year’s festival.

This past Sunday the late Jim Dickinson received a brass note on Memphis’ Beale Street Brass Note Walk of Fame. The Dickinson Family attended the ceremony and Luther and Cody Dickinson performed a few songs for those in attendance.
