Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek has formed a new project with noted producer/slide guitarist Roy Rogers (John Lee Hooker, Miles Davis, Ramblin’ Jack Elliott) and will release the new studio album Translucent Blues on May 24. The group explains, “These virtuosos have combined their artistry and creativity to produce a CD that skillfully weaves rock, blues, and a tinge of jazz music together with literature and poetry.” The collaboration was inspired by the writings of poets such as Jim Carroll, Warren Zevon and Michael McClure.
