Widespread Panic will film its gigs at Pelham, AL’s Oak Mountain Amphitheater next weekend. The shows will be shot in HD video for DVD release on April 21. The group recently filmed its runs in Oakland, CA and Athens, GA and is working on a documentary to celebrate its 25th anniversary. Widespread Panic has not performed at Oak Mountain since 2002.

Last night’s show in Asheville, NC included the band’s first cover of Jimmy Cliff’s “The Harder They Come” since 2001 as well as its first version of Pops Staples’ “Hope in a Hopeless World” since 2008. The group will return to Asheville tonight. Please click here for a recent site interview with the band that discusses the new documentary and much more.
