Moonalice already has gained renown for offering free live videocasts of most every performance via moonaliceTV.com. Now the band is taking things even further by allowing fans to check out the action on their iPads and iPhones (as well as PCs), without any apps, via HTML5 technology, as the group utilizes Satellite Uplink and encoding equipment to deliver a live webcasts.

The band’s Roger McNamee explains, “Thousands of fans watch every Moonalice show on the Couch Tour on moonaliceTV.com. Now they can watch every show for free on a smartphone or iPad. Satellite-based HTML5 web video is the ultimate connection between a band and its fans – it is within reach for a huge range of bands. Any band can now have its own 24 hour internet TV channel for the cost of a used car. When you are trying to build a fan base, internet TV is the best tool available.”

Moonalice’s Couch Tour will soon become available via Android and Palm webOS as well. The group’s next performance is set to take place with the Radiators at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on April 20.
