Widespread Panic performed two shows in Alabama over the weekend. While both had been scheduled for the Oak Mountain Amphitheatre in Pelham, due to hazardous weather, Friday’s night’s gig was moved to the Birmingham-Jefferson Convention Complex in Birmingham. This show saw two cover songs return to rotation, as the group performed its first version of “Feelin Alright” since 11/28/00 and its first “Riders On The Storm” since 7/19/08. Likewise, the group busted out the Black Keys’ “Strange Times” cover it debuted this past Halloween. This evening also was marked by extended segues, as most of both sets as well as the encore featured notable interstitial passages between songs (with the full setlist below). Then on Saturday night, the group finally made its way to Oak Mountain. There Panic debuted its take on Leonard Cohen’s “That Don’t Make It Junk” and revisited “Down On The Farm” for the first time since 10/23/05. In addition, according to the statistics at Panicstream, the group delivered its 1000th version of “Chilly Water.”

These shows mark the conclusion of Widespread Panic’s April tour and Panic is off until an appearance at the Hangout Music Festival on May 20.
