Dave Matthews Band Adds Caravan Dates

Dave Matthews Band has confirmed its final two Caravan shows. The group will perform on New York City’s Governors Island from August 26-28, as well as George, WA’s The Gorge Amphitheatre from September 2-4.

In addition to Dave Matthews Band, the lineup for the Governors Island event will include: Dispatch, The Roots, Gogol Bordello, Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue, Josh Ritter & the Royal City Band, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, The Head and the Heart, Vieux Farka Touré, David Wax Museum and many more others The Gorge dates will mark Dave Matthews Band’s only West Coast performances of 2011 (DMB has played the venue each year since 1997). The lineup for that festival will include: Dispatch, The Roots, John Butler Trio, Gogol Bordello, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Josh Ritter & the Royal City Band, Blind Pilot, The Belle Brigade, The Moondoggies, Lindsay Fuller and many additional acts.

As previously reported, DMB is scheduled to play Atlantic City, NJ’s Bader Field from June 24-26 and Chicago’s Lakeside from July 8-9 as part of its Dave Matthews Band Caravan. These 12 shows will celebrate the band’s 20th anniversary. DMB has been trying to play Governors Island since 2005. After failing to secure permits for the venue, the band hosted festivals on Randall’s Island in 2005 and 2006.

Utah sucks anyway, quit complaining and get ready for a Gorge road trip like all of us in Colorado

Face it, they schedule two locations side by side in the northeast and skip their home stomping grounds in the south, because they’re slaves to the dollar and no longer true artists!

Johnny April 21, 2011, 12:18:30

Being from the south… you think they would have scheduled one of these caravans in VA, NC, SC, GA, FL, etc. C’mon two of these in the northeast miles apart from each other!

It seems clearer and clearer that the only band that gives a shit about the south is WSP. And that makes me a sad panda.

Yeah, maybe something, I don’t know, SOUTH of the Mason-Dixon? Or at least not in neighboring northeast states? What, are you guys paying off a debt to the mob? Dumb.

Don’t know why you are all complaining…..at least there are some remotely close to you this year. I’m from Utah and nothing anywhere near me, and to top it off, he cancelled on us 2 years in a row!

The South
