The 10th Jam Cruise will sail from January 9-14, 2012. The multi-day cruise will depart from Ft. Lauderdale, FL aboard the MSC Poesia and head to Labadee, Haiti and Falmouth, Jamaica. Umphrey’s McGee will perform on the cruise for the first time since 2007 while Galactic will continue its perfect Jam Cruise streak.
Other Jam Cruise regulars like Karl Denson, George Porter Jr., Brock Butler, Steve Kimock and Col. Bruce Hampton will return. The traveling festival will also host Bruce Hornsby & the Noisemakers, Shpongle, Surprise Me Mr. Davis and 7 Walkers for the first time (Bill Kreutzmann performed on Jam Cruise last year with The Rhythm Devils). In addition, Jam Cruise will boast A Tribute to Sly & the Family Stone with Ivan Neville, Eric Krasno, Ian Neville, Adam Deitch, Nick Daniels and Nigel Hall as well as the final New Deal show (the band is scheduled to break up at the end of 2011, though the cruise will push that into 2012).
Jam Cruise’s Positive Legacy outreach wing will also donate pallets of goods in Haiti while working in conjunction with several organizations that are on the ground working to benefit the Haiti people.
Cabins will go on sale Tuesday May 24 at 12:00pm ET. Fans who have pre-booked can begin selecting cabins on May 11, 2011.
