The Dirty Dozen and Trombone Shorty join DMB

The Dirty Dozen Brass Band performed on the main Acura stage at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival Sunday afternoon. The band’s lineup boasted longtime sousaphone player Kirk Joseph—who rejoined the group last year after an absence—and drummer Terrence Higgins, who will miss some shows this spring while touring in the Warren Haynes Band. In addition, Trombone Shorty sat in on both” When the Saints Go Marching” and the Crusaders’ “Mama Told Me So.” Dirty Dozen Brass Band’s JazzFest run will continue with a performance at New Orleans’ The Temple on May 6.
