The Megalomaniacs Ball took place last night in New Orleans before a packed house at Howlin’ Wolf. Both Stanton Moore and Marco Benevento pulled double duty. The two musicians appeared in Garage A Trois, which saw Nigel Hall join in on organ for an extended jam and add some bonus scatting as well. Earlier in the evening Benevento also appeared with his own group which included Reed Mathis and John Speice, while Moore’s trio was completed by Robert Walter and Scott Metzger. The Illuminati Trio also performed and welcomed Steven Bernstein on slide trumpet. All of the players will continue to make the rounds in NOLA over the coming days.
