Railroad Earth celebrated its 10th anniversary with a headlining performance at Montclair, NJ’s Wellmont Theatre. The show—which took place in the shadow of the New Jersey clubs where the group played its first gigs—featured material culled from throughout the group’s entire career. The members of Railroad Earth also referenced their journey by opening with “Long Way To Go” and closing their encore with “Keep Movin’ On.” In addition to showcasing its roots-oriented songs, Railroad Earth provided its jamming ability, especially on a “Might River” sandwich built around “Spring-Heeled Jack” and a run from “The Jupiter and the 119” into “Fiddlee.”

Jackie Greene opened the night and sat in with the group near the end of its set. The guitarist emerged for “Duncan and Brady” and remained onstage for “Hard Livin’.” Railroad Earth’s next performance will be at Gulf Shores, AL’s The Hangout.
