As previously reported, several stops on Steely Dan’s Shuffle Diplomacy 2011 will include special setlists. In a message posted on Steely Dan’s homepage, the group has now outlined what these shows will entail:

“Aja”, “Gaucho”, or “The Royal Scam” Plus: Setlist is one of three classic Steely Dan albums in its entirety — Aja, Gaucho, or The Royal Scam — plus additional selected favorites and hits.

By Popular Demand: Fans have always found a way to let Fagen and Becker know what they want to hear. This setlist represents oft-requested songs of recent years.

Dawn of The Dan: Featuring songs from Steely Dan’s groundbreaking first albums of the ’70s — Can’t Buy A Thrill, Countdown to Ecstasy, and Pretzel Logic — plus additional selected favorites and hits.

21st Century Dan: Featuring songs from 2003’s Everything Must Go and 2000’s Grammy Album Of The Year Two Against Nature — plus additional selected favorites and hits.

Rarities: The unreleased, the mythic, the reborn, the rarely-if-ever-heard; On this numinous Night of Nights, all will be revealed (along with additional selected favorites and hits).

Steely Dan’s two-night rum at Los Angeles’ Greek Theatre will feature the “Aja” night on July 8 and “By Popular Demand” on July 9. Chicago-area fans will be treated to an “Aja” night at Highland Park, IL’s Ravinia on August 12 and a “By Popular Demand” night at the same venue on August 13. Meanwhile, Milwaukee, WI’s Riverside Theater will host “Aja” and “By Popular Demand” on August 27 and 28, respectively.

While at New York’s Beacon Theatre in September, Steely Dan will run through each of its setlist options, including “Dawn of The Dan” (9/14),“Gaucho” (9/16), “Rarities” (9/17), “Aja” (9/19), “The Royal Scam” (9/20), “By Popular Demand” (9/22) and “21st Century Dan” (9/23).
