Bob Weir will headline his first solo acoustic tour this summer. The Grateful Dead guitarist/singer has now added a date to the brief run. Weir will open for country legend Merle Haggard at Charlottesville, VA’s nTelos Wireless at Charlottesville Pavilion on August 4. As previously reported, Weir will play the nearby Jefferson Theatre later that night. The Grateful Dead covered a number of Haggard’s songs, most notably “Mama Tried” and “Sing Me Back Home.”
