As reported over at Relix.com, Bon Iver frontman Justin Vernon started performing with the members of Megafaun in high school in the post-Phish band Mount Vernon. That group later evolved into the folky DeYarmond Edison before Vernon started recording as Bon Iver and the rest of the band formed Megafaun (though the musicians continue to play together as part of Gayngs). Last night, Megafaun’s Phil Cook sat in with Vernon on Late Nite With Jimmy Fallon. The longtime friends ran through a medley of songs that included Bonnie Raitt’s “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” “Nick of Time” and Leon Russell’s “A Song For You.” Please click here to see Megafaun’s recent performance at Relix.
