A look at Railroad Earth’s 2010 DelFest set

Railroad Earth played two shows at Cumberland, MD’s DelFest this past weekend. During Friday’s late night set in the DelFest Music Hall, Ronnie McCoury emerged to play mandolin on “Head” a few songs into Railroad Earth’s set. Later in the night, Del McCoury himself also sat in on a stretch of songs that included “Rollin’ in My Sweet Baby’s Arms,” “Don’t Stop the Music” and Sing For Me.”

The band performed on DelFest’s main stage the next day and brought out another member of Del McCoury Band, Jason Carter, on violin for “Bringin’ My Baby Back Home.” Both Carter and Railroad Earth’s Tim Carbone also sat in with Emmitt-Nershi Band at DelFest Saturday. Carter joined the group for its entire show while Carbone emerged at the end of the band’ set for “New Country Blues.” Darol Anger also sat in on “These Days” and “Tangled Up in Drew.”
