A Few Weekends at Wooten Woods

Bass virtuoso and five time Grammy Award winner Victor Wooten (Bela Fleck and The Flecktones) will lead music and nature classes this summer and fall at his own “Wooten Woods” in Only, TN. The camp runs alongside the scenic Duck River and will include multiple days of study with the prolific musician. A number of guest instructors will also join Wooten at the camp, including multi-instrumentalists Steve Bailey and Anthony Wellington, saxophonist Bob Franceschini, percussionist/violinist Joe Craven and others.

The workshop will allow campers to “experience nature first hand and incorporate it in their musical education.” Camp season will kick off on June 21 with a music and nature session, followed by a Theory Weekend from August 20-21, Fodera Guitar Camp from September 6-11, Jam Camp Weekend on September 17-18 and Spirit Music Camp from September 29-October 2. Tuition is $850 and includes lodging and meals.

If you are a musician and you haven’t been to a camp, go the first chance you get. It will blow your mind.
