Connecticut based Jazz-fusion supergroup Kung Fu returned to Burlington, VT’s Metronome last Thursday as tornado warnings and a severe rainstorm canceled a majority of Burlington Vermont’s “Discover Jazz” festival. Brooklyn’s Snarky Puppy Horns sat in with the group for a cover of Herbie Hancock’s “Chameleon” before keyboardist Todd Stoops invited RAQ bandmate Chris Michetti (RAQ/Conspirator) to the stage to join in for a rendition of Billy Cobham’s “Stratus.” Michetti remained on stage with the group to play RAQ originals “Premium” and “Ventriloquist.” Kung Fu will be releasing their first studio album on June 30 and will have a CD release party at The Daniel Street Club in Milford, CT. The first single “Junoon” can be found here.
