Blitzen Trapper will kick off a headlining tour in support of their new album American Goldwing on July 19 in Salt Lake City. The album will come out on September 13 via Sub Pop Records.

In a press release statement, lead singer and songwriter Eric Earley described American Goldwing as being “about those feelings of being trapped in a small town. That fine line between the rural and the suburban settings that define much of America.” Accordingly, Earley says that the album’s sound mixes “the hard guitar rock and country picking of our younger years” with “glimmers of our usual space-aging technology.” There will be “heavy guitar riffs and blasting drum fills” alongside “plucking banjos, wailing harmonicas and muddy slide guitars.”
