Blitzen Trapper: New Tour, Usual Glimmer

Blitzen Trapper will kick off a headlining tour in support of their new album American Goldwing on July 19 in Salt Lake City. The album will come out on September 13 via Sub Pop Records.

In a press release statement, lead singer and songwriter Eric Earley described American Goldwing as being “about those feelings of being trapped in a small town. That fine line between the rural and the suburban settings that define much of America.” Accordingly, Earley says that the album’s sound mixes “the hard guitar rock and country picking of our younger years” with “glimmers of our usual space-aging technology.” There will be “heavy guitar riffs and blasting drum fills” alongside “plucking banjos, wailing harmonicas and muddy slide guitars.”

The band has announced ten tour dates, with more to be announced:

July 19 Urban Lounge – Salt Lake City, UT
July 20 The Bluebird Theater – Denver, CO
July 22 Riot Room – Kansas City, MO
July 23 Firebird – St. Louis, MO
July 24 Wicker Park Festival – Chicago, IL
July 25 The Blue Moose TapHouse – Iowa City, IA
July 26 Slowdown – Omaha, NE
July 28 The Filling Station – Bozeman, MT
July 29 A Club – Spokane, WA
July 30 Seasons Performance Hall – Yakima, WA
