Deervana Vs. Brooklyn Bowl

The members of Deer Tick have performed the music of Nirvana as Deervana at some small clubs around their home state of Rhode Island. The band took the cover act on the road for appearances at Austin, TX’s SXSW and a surprise show at Bonnaroo. Deervana resurfaced once again last night for a show at Brooklyn, NY’s Brooklyn Bowl as part of the Northside Festival. The group Waters opened the night and joined in the action by covering Hole’s “Violet.” At the end of Deervana’s set, the members of the band destroyed their Fender guitars onstage with the help of some of the venue’s bowling balls. Deer Tick will perform its own music at Calgary, AB’s Sled Island festival on June 24.

Sue,[I guess you bought all that graammr school historical revision and patriotic everyman American hero stuff…]I’m not sure your claim is merited, but what’s clear to me is that you missed the reading assignment in second-semester Russian History that described what the Bolsheviks did to the house of Romanov on the 17th of July, 1918.Given your proclivity for blaming rich white guys for war, surely this historical event warrants an exception to your rule. Then again, I can hear your argument now: Nikolai had it coming you know, as Tsar, he represented the legacy of the Kishinev pogrom Then again, what do I know? After all, according to you mine is merely a mental landscape of unicorns and rainbow bubbles Cheers,
