Last night, Bob Weir performed an acoustic set at San Rafael, CA’s Rafael Theatre. The solo acoustic performance took place after a screening for the movie The Cove, winner of 2010 Academy Award for Best Documentary. The performance was part of a benefit for Save Japan Dolphins, a non-profit project sponsored by the Earth Island Institute with the goal of promoting eco-tourism as an alternative to killing whales and dolphins. After the screening, Weir ran through solo acoustic versions of “The Music Never Stopped,” “When I Paint My Masterpiece,” “Lost Sailor,” “Saint Of Circumstance,” “Loose Lucy,” “Corrina” and “Ripple.” Furthur will kick off a summer tour at Masontown, WV’s All Good Music & Camping Festival on July 15.
