The summer of 2011 will be a busy one for Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. After playing in front of 35,000 people at Bonnaroo earlier this month, Grace Potter announced that the band will appear on a July 13 episode of Cee Lo Green’s new show Talking with Strangers.
Potter will also appear on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on July 21 alongside Rickey Minor, Sharon Jones and The Tonight Show Band.

Later this summer, Grace Potter and The Nocturnals will make their debut appearance at Lollapalooza on August 5 and will headline their own new festival Grand Point North at Burlington Waterfront Park on Lake Champlain. This festival will feature performances by Taj Mahal, Fitz & The Tantrums, the Wood Brothers, Augustana, Hoots & Hellmouth, Jessica Lea Mayfield, Anais Mitchell, Rubblebucket, and Chamberlin. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals will close the festival each night.

In addition, Potter, Stevie Wonder, Sharon Jones and Janelle Monae will share the stage at Los Angeles, CA’s Hollywood Bowl on July 24 as part of radio station KCRW’s World Festival. “I never wanted to be put in a box,” Grace said in an interview. “I didn’t want to be that band from New England with a girl in it; I didn’t want to be a pop diva; I wanted to be malleable and have my character be elastic enough to lend itself to lots of different genres. If someone asked me, ‘What kind of music do you want to play for the rest of your life?’ I don’t have an answer for that, because I want to do everything. This band is growing up, and so am I. We understand what music makes us happy and what makes a crowd happy
