My Morning Jacket performed at Oakland, CA’s Fox Theater Friday night with guest opener Everest. Longtime MMJ collaborator M. Ward—who most recently played with Jacket frontman Jim James in the Monsters of Folk—was in town for a show with Alison Krauss & Union Station at Berkeley, CA’s Greek Theatre the following night and sat in with the group for the acoustic “Wonderful (The Way I Feel).” New Orleans’ Preservation Hall Jazz Band was also in the Bay Area for a set at the Kate Wolf Memorial Festival and emerged during MMJ’s encore. The band took the stage for “Holdin’ On To Black Metal” and remained onstage for “Highly Suspicious,” “Dancefloors” and “One Big Holiday.” Preservation Hall toured with My Morning Jacket in 2010 and sat in with the group at both Mountain Jam and Bonnaroo earlier this month.

My Morning Jacket will perform in Portland, OR’s Edgefield tomorrow. The band is also featured on the cover of the June issue of Relix.
