New Jersey’s Real Estate finished recording its sophomore album in New Paltz, NY last week. The album is scheduled for release on Domino records this October. The group will spend most of July on the road, including a late night show tied to Chicago’s Pitchfork Festival on July 17 and a free show with The Feelies at Brooklyn, NY’s Prospect Park on July 23. This Thursday, the band will return to its roots playing underground shows in Brooklyn with a gig at DIY promoter Todd P’s 285 Kent. The night will celebrate the release of volumes in the 33 1/3 series on Television’s Marquee Moon and The Rolling Stones’ _Some Girls.” Real Estate’s forthcoming album was mastered by the people behind Marquee Moon. Widowspeak and Vacation will open the night.
