Yonder Mountain String Band, DJ Logic, Futurebirds to Open for Widespread Panic

As previously reported, Widespread Panic will visit a number of its favorite intimate venues this fall. The band will also play a few larger venues in the Southeast. Longtime Panic friend DJ Logic will open two of these amphitheater dates while more recent Panic pals Yonder Mountain String Band will open three of the band’s big shows. Rising indie-Americana act Futurebirds—one of this year’s breakout Bonnaroo performers —will also open two of Panic’s Southeast shows (the members of Futurebirds grew up on Panic’s music, but the band has since scored some hipster buzz). A currently unannounced special guest is also slated to open Panic’s shows in Boston this September.

Last night, Panic headlined Eugene, OR’s Cuthbert Amphitheater. Dumpstaphunk opened the show, and Ian and Ivan Neville both joined the members of Panic for “Born Under A Bad Sign” and “Red Hot Mama.” Widespread Panic will perform at Oakland, CA’s Fox Theater tomorrow. The band is also featured on the cover of this month’s Relix.

Thanks Panic for keeping NYE in the South! I heard Phillips was hassling them..which is crazy when you consider how many sold out shows they have had there. Nicely done, fellas!

and everyone, including the band, prefers it out west…shows are rocking and the scene is way more chill…ATL, Charlotte, those places you get robbed afte the show, no camping, and no view of the mountains
