Panic at the Wiltern 10 years ago

Though Widespread Panic is known as a Southern band, bassist Dave Schools’ Stockholm Syndrome project is truly a West Coast group. With the exception of keyboardist Danny Louis—who lives in Woodstock, NY—all the members of Stockholm are based on the West Coast. So it makes sense that the members of Schools’ two primary bands often perform together in California.

Last night, Widespread Panic headlined Los Angeles’ Wiltern Theater. During the group’s second set, Portland, OR resident and Stockholm frontman Jerry Joseph emerged for one of his own songs, “Chainsaw City.” The song also featured Stockholm drummer and LA local Wally Ingram on percussion. Ingram remained onstage for one of the band’s drum segments as well as “Papa Legba.”

Panic will return to the Wiltern tonight while Joseph will stay in the area for a post-show gig with the Jackmormons at LA’s The Mint. Ingram will perform with Steve Kimock & Friends at Napa, CA’s Uptown Theater.
