Athens, GA’s Georgia Theatre will reopen this August. The club closed in 2009 after a devastating fire tgutted the entire venue. As of press time, the officially first show at the historic theater—which hosted early shows by R.E.M., Widespread Panic and countless others—will be The Glands on August 1.

The theater has now confirmed a number of additional shows as part of its grand reopening celebration. Stockholm Syndrome will headline the theater on August 17 while The Whigs and special guests Those Darlins and Johnny Corndawg will play the venue on August 20. Former Whigs bassist Hank Sullivant will also headline the Georgia Theatre on August 25 with his psychedelic rock band Kuroma. Finally, on August 26. the recently reunited Allgood and Indecision will both perform at the theater.
