R.E.M.’s Peter Buck, R.E.M. sideman/The Minus 5 leader Scott McCaughey, Rosanna Cash, Laura Veirs and John Roderick are among the guests slated to appear on singer/songwriter John Wesley Harding’s new release, The Sound of His Own Voice, which is due on October 11 via Yep Roc Records. The album, which was recorded at the Type Foundry in Portland, OR, will feature 13 original songs supported by the King Charles Trio, which features Decemberists members John Moen, Chris Funk, Jenny Conlee, and Nate Query. Buck appears on The Decemberists’ new studio album The King is Dead. Harding released his first album Here Comes the Groom in 1990, which was called “the first great rock record of the ‘90s” by the L.A. Times.
