New Mastersounds guitarist Eddie Roberts has formed a trio along with Greyboy Allstars keyboard player Robert Walter and drummer Adam Deitch (Break Science, Lettuce). Roberts describes their sound as “60’s SoulJazz, Rare Funk Grooves & Driving Latin Beats, with a trans continental twist and a modern mind set.” Roberts adds, “Robert Walter and I met in 1996 in a small club in Leeds, UK. We had a passion for the very same music and over the years we’ve spoken about one day forming a trio together. My move to the US at the end of 2010 made this a reality. After discussing who the ideal 3rd member would be, we agreed that Adam Deitch was the man and he was approached. Luckily for all, he was as excited by the idea as we were, and this was the birth of WRD. What happens when you put 3 bulls in a field? Come and find out!” The three musicians will open a series of dates on Friday night in Denver at Cervantes and also make appearances in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and West Virginia over the course of the month.
