While off the road this month, Umphrey’s McGee’s Kris Myers will offer a few drum lessons at his Chicago practice space. Myers explains, “We will work on a variety of different techniques, from stick control exercises and rudiments to groove playing, and understanding fills and phrases in drumset playing, and how it applies to a song. With all of these variables considered, [we] will be focusing on the importance of timekeeping, feel, dynamics, and interpretation of these exercises.” Each $70 lesson will be for an hour chunk of time between 2 and 7 PM.

Myers will select his students from a brief questionnaire. More information on the lessons is available on Umphrey’s McGee’s homepage.
