On Saturday, Woods closed out their summer tour with a family gathering at New York’s Bowery Ballroom that featured performances by fellow Woodsist label mates Ducktails, White Fence and Widowspeak. The night began with sets from the latter two acts before Real Estate guitarist Matt Mondanile—aka Ducktails—performed a solo set that included a cover of Tame Impala’s “Why Don’t You Make Up Your Mind.” Woods took the stage shortly after midnight for a powerful set that stretched into the early hours of Sunday. The show became a true family affair as the group was joined by members of their Woodsist family for several songs. On opener “Pushing Onlys,” White Fence’s Tim Presley (also of Darker My Love) joined in on second guitar and, later in the set, Mondanile sat in on drums for an extended version of “Bend Beyond,” as he recently did at the Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago.
