For years, moe.’s Al Schnier and Vinnie Amico have played alongside each other in side projects such as Al and the Transamericans. The pair have now teamed up to form a new outfit called Floodwood, featuring Woodenspoon’s Jason Barady, Nick Piccininni and Zachary Fleitz. Floodwood will make their debut at moe.down 12 in September and will appear again on October 8 at Red Square in Albany. The band’s facebook ‘about’ page reads:

“Floodwood is a new, progressive string band, hailing from Upstate, NY. Its members are veteran musicians who’ve performed on stages around the world over the last 20 years. They breathe fresh life into timeless acoustic music & play with the dexterity & chops of seasoned pros.”

moe.‘s next show will be at Dave Matthews Band’s Governors Island next week.
