Legendary musician Glen Campbell will release the new album
Ghost in the Canvas on Surfdog Records next Tuesday. The album—which is supposedly the multiple Grammy Award winner’s final studio recording—features contributions from Paul Westerberg, Jakob Dylan, Robert Pollard and Teddy Thompson. On the album, Campbell is backed by an all-star group of musicians including Chris Isaak, Dick Dale, Billy Corgan, Brian Setzer, Rick Nielsen, Roger Manning and The Dandy Warhols. In conjunction with the release, Campbell will make a series of TV appearances starting tomorrow with an exclusive interview on World News with Diane Sawyer, followed by NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on September 12th and ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! on September 27th. Campbell was recently diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease and plans to retire from the music industry. One of his final interviews is slated for publication in the October/November issue of Relix. The article is a conversation between Campbell, his wife and Yo La Tengo guitarist Ira Kaplan.
