The Boston Pops have joined the lineup for the second annual Life is Good Festival. The pops’ string and brass sections led by guest conductor Daniel Bernard Roumain (DBR) will join Brandi Carlile and The Levon Helm Band for portions of their individual sets on Sunday, September 25, 2011. As previously reported, the Life is Good Festival will take place September 24-25 at Prowse Farm in Canton, MA.

“My brother and I grew up in the Boston area and the Boston Pops have always been a source of pride for the city,” said Life is Good’s Bert Jacobs in a statement. “They are a world-renowned talent but also an integral part of the Boston community. We are thrilled to have them on stage for the 2011 Life is good Festival and look forward to making them part of the Life is good community.”

In addition, Mystic, Conn’s Barefoot Truth have been added to the festival’s lineup. The band was selected from hundreds of submissions received through Sonicbids to open the festival.
Life is Good’s lineup will also feature Ray LaMontagne, The Avett Brothers, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Keller Williams, Robert Randolph and the Family Band, Martin Sexton, Raphael Saadiq, Ingrid Michaelson and The Hold Steady, The Dirty Dozen Brass Band, Maceo Parker and Tristan Prettyman, among others.
