Anders Osborne Joins moe. in Telluride

Dino Perrucci

Telluride, CO hosted the 18th annual Telluride Brews & Blues Festival this past weekend. The festival’s lineup included a number of heavy hitters, including Willie Nelson, The Flaming Lips, Big Head Todd & the Monsters, moe., Robert Cray and Zappa Plays Zappa, among many others. One of the weekend’s more intriguing sit ins took place during moe.’s set. A few songs into the single-set performance, New Orleans guitarist Anders Osborne emerged to play on the moe. original “Happy Hour Hero.” This is the first time Osborne has sat in with the veteran jamband (as our reader points out below, moe.‘s Al Schnier also sat in with Osborne for Neil Young’s “Cortez the Killer” a few hours earlier). moe.’s next performance will take place at Live Oak, FL’s Magnolia Music Festival on October 21.

Here is a look at the complete setlist, as it appears in the Box Scores section of Jambands.com.

No, it was moe that tore the roof off the local hockey rink with a full 2-set late night show…absolutely on fire

Al from moe. came out during Anders Osborne’s set for a cover of Cortez the Killer a few hours before the moe. set as well. Anders blew the roof off the Sharidan Opera House later that same night. Anders was the highlight of the weekend for sure!
