Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth and Leslie West Postpone Tour

Michael Schenker, Uli Jon Roth and Leslie West have postponed their 3 Guitar Heroes tour due to insurmountable travel issues. The outing was scheduled to begin in Norfolk, CT on October 6. A statement from the trio reads, “When faced with securing a viable path for West’s travel while still confined to a wheelchair, the search for a vehicle went on for months, and it has been called off. Last week, West was fitted with a prosthetic leg, but it will take months before he is able to live a normal life with the appendage, and there is no way to tour at this time without the security of the wheelchair he has been confined to post-amputation.” Part of the Mountain leader’s leg was recently amputated due to complications from diabetes.

How about Frank Marino filling in for West. What’s he doing these days?

I give a Fuck! What douche bags….. There are too many idiots out there making techno, washing machine beats, and you give shit to a fighter, who was at the originalnwoodstock, played with Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Van Halen, Ozzy Osborne, Slash, Zakk Wylde, Randy Rhoades…. And the list goes on….who wantsbto tour and make fans happy after a catastrophic year and losing a leg…. Tell the wounded warriors he supports that!

Wow, gotta love people who are clueless… who you ask? You’re like the 14 year old who listens to Hannna Montana and says “who” when the older sibling mentions Trey Anastasio… in this day and age, it’s so easy to copy/paste a name into Google, read for 5 minutes and end up not looking like a clueless moron…

Alright, nobody knows where Marino is these days, How about Ted Nugent fills in? Let’s face it. Leslie West is replaceable.

I respect what west has done in his career and feel bad for him but
The guitar heros tour
Everyone wants to see Michael schenker and uli Jon Roth
I could not care less if west plays or not

Frank Marino is a master guitarist who can run circles on the guitar around any of the dipshits commenting above. If you don;t know Frank, you don’t know jack schitt. I have seen him live three times in the last 6 yrs. He was a monster in 1970 and he is even better in 2011. His son tours with him and he is a master violinist. What a show…..

imo…very sad when a man loses part of his leg & can’t get any respect ….. Leslie has continued to be a stellar guitarist since his days in Mountain, and has earned his place in music history …... this postponement doesn’t diminish him in any way! he will find a way to tour, it will just take a little time to adjust, be cool & we’ll all be rockin’ again soon…...

We’re starvin for some old Scorps N UjFO!!! We can’t wait!

Big Ray September 29, 2011, 16:59:53

some of you younger Dudes have a lot to learn if you don’t appreciate Leslie. Who do you think influenced most of the younger guys. Leslie is why a large group of us were going. Nicky you will grow up one day and wise up you don’t know sh t about real gitar playing so shut the F up.

Dziony September 30, 2011, 08:41:53

Heard that West’s new album is “OK”, not good or great. Hard to stay on top of your game after all those years.

Dziony September 30, 2011, 11:14:03

You guys are a little slow on the draw. Of the 6 guitarists listed here one is obviously out of place here. I’ll ask the questions. Which one and why?

Dziony September 30, 2011, 11:30:09

MY BAD!! Only 5 guitarists were mentioned. Schenker, Roth, West, Marino and Nugent. We need a 6th so we’ll borrow Mike Pinera from Classic Rock Allstars. Which one doesn’t fit?

Wolfgang Dziony October 4, 2011, 02:08:48

The answer obviously is Ted Nugent. All the other guitarists are humble gentlemen, as opposed to Ted, who’s an arrogant asshole. And he hasn’t made a decent album in 30 years. Not to mention he’s a republican. I’d like to lock him in a cage with David Lee Roth for a month just for kicks. They’re so much alike that they would probably kill each other.

Michael Miller October 10, 2011, 13:55:38

With other people talking about Ted Nugent or whoever. Why hasn’t anyone but me mentioned
Ronnie Montrose? He is the only one who can take Leslie’s spot, if Mr.West can not make it! God Bless Leslie West!!!

Bobby October 22, 2011, 08:01:54

It would still be great to see Schenker and Roth!

Dziony October 22, 2011, 16:09:13

Yes Bobby, you’re absolutely right! Schenker would have to go on 1st IMO. Roth is the king, especially when he’s playing old Scorps. Anyone that hasn’t heard Fly to the rainbow, In trance, Virgin killer, or Take in by force should absolutely check these out! Not to mention Tokyo tapes. I think Schenker was in his prime w UFO on the very underated No heavy petting. Scorpions were in their prime then before they broke America, as was UFO. Both tremendous bands with long and proud histories.

juipe October 31, 2011, 01:29:52

None of you morons know what your talking about. Mick Box is the man!

Dziony November 8, 2011, 11:56:34

Yes, Mick Box is very good! Simple but effective comes to mind. I don’t know if he fits in with this group of virtuosos though.

Dziony November 16, 2011, 15:17:12

Hey just caught the name. Is this the same Juipe that wrote for the infamous Your Magazine back in the 70’s?

Steven Schneir December 7, 2011, 03:46:05

Leslie , Michael, and Uli will be doing an abbreviated tour starting in February with the help of his new vehicle, the MV-1, which is being provided to him by The Vehicle Production Group, a brand new US car company. The MV-1 is the first ever factory produced (not modified) wheelchair accessible vehicle. It is assembled by AM General in Mishawaka, Indiana. I had dinner with Leslie tonight and he is very excited to get back on tour. Leslie is a rock legend and those you you have made negative comments about him here are in the minority. His new album has been on Billboard’s Top Ten blues albums for the past 10 weeks. to lean more about the MV-1 you can contact me directly at ss@manhattanmotorcars.com or visit www.VPGautos.com.
