Last night, the Occupy Wall Street protesters who have taken up camp in Zuccotti Park were graced with acoustic performances from both Michael Franti and Neutral Milk Hotel’s Jeff Magnum. Franti, an outspoken political acitivist, appeared early on in the evening, performing songs including “Yell Fire” on one of Zuccotti Park’s stone benches that has served as a makeshift podium during the ongoing protest. Magnum appeared later on in the evening on the steps of the park, treating the crowd to quiet acoustic arrangements of songs such as the indie-classic “In the Aeroplane Over the Sea” (which was covered by Phish in 2009).
